Pause
I am not doing this now. I will decide again at a named time.
Setback to Re-Entry
A setback can interrupt routines, plans and confidence. This tool helps define a realistic first step back without pretending recovery is linear.
The re-entry ladder
The goal is not to prove that nothing happened. The goal is to make the next version of ordinary life more workable.
Identify the practical interruption without judging it.
Define a step you can actually attempt—not the full old routine.
Tell the relevant person what is changing and when you will reassess.
Leave margin after the first return instead of scheduling proof.
A useful distinction
“Not today,” “not at full scale” and “not without help” are different decisions. Naming the difference makes communication easier.
I am not doing this now. I will decide again at a named time.
I am doing a smaller version that protects the essential outcome.
I am choosing a different route that still serves the real purpose.
